What's next?

A. Phase One: Preparation for Culture Shifts in the Church

Phase 1 of the 3-phase church culture management process (refer Section I (C) above) consists of the following steps:

2. To form a leadership team that will spearhead the family discipleship.

This is a critical part of the plan. The team must lead the church in the entire process that will likely to take up to 3 to 7 years to complete.

1. To establish a sense of urgency in both leaders and the congregation.

This deals with the ‘whys’ for the church to invest in building the culture. Much attention needs to be given to this – shifting the beliefs and values that will result in concrete actions towards building the needed culture in the church that emphasises family discipleship.

The survey experience and the churchwide conversations using the three booklets are very helpful in this. The leadership of the church has to decide what else needs to be done to further strength this part of the change process in the church.

3. To develop the vision and mission statements; thereafter, to formulate a strategic plan for developing the culture

One of the key tasks of this team is to prepare a strategic plan to cultivate the family discipleship culture in the church.
