The Pin-drop Silence

Everyone knows family conflicts exist.

But unless it is idle gossip, no one wants to talk about it. This coincides with our findings based on a series of opinion poll surveys conducted with key global leaders over the years.

Before the issues can be addressed, it is important for the church leadership to understand the actual issues plaguing our Christian homes. Hence, we have crafted the DO Home Survey, a brief 3 to 5 minute survey that aims to assess the common areas where people struggle. With the survey results, the church leadership will have a clearer understanding of the strengths and areas for improvement of its congregation, by which relevant plans can then be drawn up to meet those needs.

The survey touches on five key focus areas:

  • Faith of the Next Generation
  • Marriage
  • Parenting
  • Sexuality
  • Care for the Elderly

Parts of the Survey

We strongly believe that knowing the actual health of the families in our churches is crucial for any ministry to succeed. Merely assuming that our families are fine, then being taken by surprise when they crumble, can be detrimental to the body of Christ.

With this in mind, we have designed the DO Home Survey consisting of two parts. One for the church leadership, and one for the congregation.

Upon completion of both surveys, two reports will be generated and made available for free to your church leadership.

The Pin-drop Silence

Everyone knows family conflicts exist.

But no one wants to talk about it. This coincides with our findings based on a series of opinion poll surveys conducted with key global leaders over the years.

The Survey

It is important for the church leadership to understand the real key issues affecting our Christian homes; a family survey would be effective in surfacing these issues.

We have designed an online (hardcopy option is available too) survey tool that aims to gather key information for the church leadership. It will only take 3 to 4 minutes to complete the survey.

Key Focus Areas

The survey touches on five key areas:

  • Faith of the next generation,
  • Marriage,
  • Parenting,
  • Sexuality,
  • Care for the Elderly

Parts of Survey

We strong believe that survey findings highlighting the differences between what the church leadership perceives the conditions of the families to be and what they are actually going through will be effective in raising the needed alarm for needed actions.

With this aim in view, we are designing two sets of questionnaires; one for the church leadership and one for the congregation. The questions we ask the leaders to answer are related to those we ask the congregation to complete; what they believe of the conditions of the areas of family life that we survey the congregation for.

survey

The two parts of the survey are:

Part 1.

DO Home Leadership Survey. This component measures the perceptions of the leaders regarding the state of the families in their churches.

DO Home Leadership Report. This report will reveal the leadership’s perceptions of its families.

It is imperative that the church leadership completes the survey before the survey is introduced to the congregation. This will give the DO Home Task Force an opportunity to review the feedback from the leadership team and identify/rectify any potential hiccups before the churchwide launch.

Part 2.

DO Home Congregational Survey. This component is open to every church member aged 13 and above. It measures what the members are actually going through.

DO Home Congregational Report. This report will reveal the actual condition of the individuals in their family life.

All data collected from across the globe will be compiled, so as to allow benchmarking of your church’s results to national and international aggregates.

Benefits

It is our hope that the findings of the DO Home Survey will:

  • REVEAL the current health of the church and highlight areas in which its members are struggling. Moreover, by comparing the leaders’ perceptions with the congregation’s actual results, this survey can be an effective tool in discerning areas of strength and raising the alarm for areas where action is needed.
  • PROPEL each individual to reflect upon his/her own family life and how the individual can be an agent of change to his/her home and community.
  • STRENGTHEN all relationships within the church as members realise that they are not alone in their struggles. As members are able to open up to a safe community and leadership knowing that help and not judgment awaits, a fulfilling church life should subsequently ensue.

You will also be able to benchmark against the national aggregates based on all the DO Home surveys conducted in the nation.

Benefits. The benefits are as follows:

  • CREATE a churchwide interest focusing on the health of the families. There will be ample opportunities for families to reflect on their current state as people become more open to talk about their family life.
  • FOCUS on family needs. Both the church leaders and the congregation will see it as a priority to focus on meeting the needs of their families. It will result in direct conversations on discipleship of the home and making this a priority focus of the church.

Part 1. The leadership survey.

This will uncover what the church leadership thinks is the current state of the families in their churches.

Part 2. The congregational survey.

This is open to every church member above the age of 12. This will help the church leadership see the gap between their own perception and the true state of affairs in these families.

Upon the completion of the survey, two reports will be generated promptly and made available for free to your church leadership.

They are:

DO Home Congregational Report.

This is based on responses from families about their conditions at home. It covers all five areas of family life surveyed.

DO Home Leadership Report.

This report will highlight the gap between perception and the reality of the family conditions.
